C. Frederick Lau Sr.

Clare Frederick Lau Sr., age 81, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Stein Hospice Care Center.

He was born April 8, 1940 in Norwalk to the late Carl S. and Clara (Landoll) Lau. He was a graduate of St. Paul High School and the Police Academy. He was a retired detective and police captain with the Norwalk Police Department. He was also an engineering technician at the former ACMI in Norwalk. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (Wise) Lau; children, Kelli (Doug) Cross, Charles (Ann) Lau and Carl Lau; daughter-in-law, Lisa Lau; grandchildren, Cody Lau, Chris Lau, Victoria Lau, Ashley Lau, Brandon Lau, Dylan Lau, Zach Lau, Charlie Lau Jr., Brooke Lau, and Tiffany Lau; and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Dennis Lau; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his 1st wife, Margaret (Mitchell) Lau; and son, C. Fred Lau Jr.; and a brother, Carl Lau.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857 or it’s Shrine of the Sorrowful Mother fund.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. We were so blessed to have lived across the street from Fred and Marilyn- he was a special man and we will miss him dearly. He was my neighbor-in-law - I will miss my adopted Neighbor in-law - love and hugs
