Robert A. Plasman

Robert Allen Plasman, age 60, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026, peacefully in his sleep after a 3-year long battle with cancer.

Robert was born on April 28, 1966, in Sandusky, Ohio.

Robert spent much of his life doing what mattered most to him: working hard, taking care of his family, and raising his two children. He worked as a mechanic and was truly a jack of all trades. There was very little Robert couldn’t figure out how to do. Whether he was working on cars, fishing, gardening, sewing, painting, or taking on whatever project happened to find its way into his hands, he always seemed to know how to fix, build, grow, or create something.

More than anything, Robert’s greatest legacy is the family he spent his life building and loving.

Robert leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Cyndy of Norwalk; his son, Coty of Norwalk; his daughter, Ciara (John) of Sandusky; and his three beloved grandchildren, Willow, Korrah, and Levi. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol (Tom) of Sandusky and Kathy (Dan) of Norwalk; his brothers, Vince (Ruth) of Norwalk and Steve (Karen) of Norwalk; his many nieces and nephews, each of whom he loved dearly and who held a special place in his heart, with special gratitude and love for his niece Jessica, who helped care for him in his final days; as well as many other family members and friends who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

He was preceded in death by his father, James; his mother, Virginia; and a very special and beloved uncle, Don and his wife Lois Ann.

A wake celebrating Robert’s life will be held at a later date, with additional details to be announced.

And, in true Robert fashion, he had one final request for everyone who knew him: after saying your goodbyes, head to your local bar, raise a glass, and take a shot of Yukon Jack for him.
