Rose Mary Brown

Rose Mary (Lucius) Brown, age 81, of Norwalk passed away August 30, 2026 at Metro Health Hospital following a brief illness.
Rose was born February 15, 1945, to Louis and Pauline Lucius both now deceased. Rose grew up on a working dairy farm with her eight siblings and would often recall her disdain for milking cows but love of farming and gardening. She graduated from New Riegel High School in 1963 and then went to work for RCA in Findlay, OH.
Rose met the love of her life, Douglas Brown, at a square dance, and they were married October 29, 1966. Doug and Rose settled down in Huron county, where they started to build a life together. They worked side by side for nearly 60 years building a family and farm that meant everything to her. She was a member of the Harvesters Farm Council for 59 years and an active member of Farm Bureau. She enjoyed helping with Vacation bible school, and numerous school activities for her kids.
Rose was the most dedicated, mom, grandma, and great grandma – always available to a give a hugs, guidance and chocolate chip cookies. She would never hesitate to do anything for family when asked. Rose loved playing cards with family, especially her sister Helen, and the conversations were always loud and lively.
Rose is survived by her husband of 59 years, Douglas Brown; son, Eric (Tracy) Brown; daughter Marla (Will) Lewis; her grandchildren, Emily Lewis, Lauran Brown, Sarah (Ethan) Oney, Erin (Craig) Johnson, Isaac (Lorin) Brown; great grandchildren, Tinsley & Braxton Johnson and Waylon Oney.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Pauline Lucius; brothers, Louis Paul, Eugene, Virgil, and Leo; and sister, Alice Siegel
A celebration of Rose Mary’s life will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857, followed by a service at 6:00 P.M. Private interment will be held at a later date in Hester Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be sent to the Wounded Warrior project or the Shriners Children’s hospital.
