Christopher J. Skelnik
October 22, 2026

Christopher J Skelnik, age 61, born March 8, 1965, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late William and Karen (Benedict) Skelnik.
Loving husband of Joni (Meno) Skelnik, and amazing stepdad to Benjamin Loudermill. Also survived by his brother, Michael (Gretchen) Skelnik and sister-in-law, Ann Skelnik (late Ivan Webb); brother-in-law to Ralph, wife Carmie Meno and Jack and wife Jackie Meno; nephew to Ken and Shary Benedict; uncle to 9 nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and nephews; and many more extended family members. Dog dad to Evie, his Cane Corso. He was a great lifelong friend to a few amazing close friends, Joe Pejsa and Karen Lewis.
On October 22, 2026, Chris lost his battle after a long, courageous fight of almost 12 years, with numerous illnesses, closing his eyes peacefully and earning his wings. After he lost his right leg 2 years ago, his world seemed to come to a halt, and he has gone downhill since. This year alone he was in and out of the hospital 12 times since, he tried to leave us in December of 2025. He spent his final year in a nursing home, receiving continuous care.
He was a lifelong auto mechanic, fixing all the old cars before the electric ones. He could fix just about anything he touched, being a master of all. Loved to build and installing snowplows too. Loved to build anything with wood and did amazing work from shelf enclosures to a shed that looked like a small cottage. He remodeled homes in his spare time too. Chris enjoyed landscaping and working in his garden. He so enjoyed his mancave he furnished in his garage, he missed sitting out there having a fire and watching tv, drinking a cold beer after a long day of working.
Private family services with a Celebration of Life to be announced later.
Cremation entrusted to Evans Funeral Home, 314 E Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio.
