Robert R. Roth

Robert R Roth, age 78, of Norwalk, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.

He was born October 23, 1939 in Norwalk to the late Richard and Florence (Brengartner) Roth. He was a 1957 graduate of St. Paul High School and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1961 from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. He was the President of Roth Construction for many years, and owner of the former Deeble’s Furniture Restoration in Norwalk, retiring in 2002. He was an active member and volunteer at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he also served on the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was also a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the non-food bank of Huron County. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching their sports and traveling. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 626 and its 4th degree Fr. Stephen Baden Assembly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Angela Roth of Norwalk; children, Mary Grosswiler of Columbia Station, Mark (Trish) Roth of Norwalk, Tom (Jennifer) Roth of Lorain, Chris (Amy) Roth of Liberty Twp. Lisa Roth of North Ridgeville, Matthew (Marcia) Roth of Springfield and Andrea (Shawn) Bradley of Columbus; 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Lee Crum of Norwalk; brothers, Donald (Mary) Roth of Norwalk and Paul (Jeannie) Roth of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Marcia Roth of Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Michelle Crum in 2006; and brother, Charles Roth in 2007; sister in infancy, Mary Florence Roth; and a grandson in infancy, Patrick Paul Roth.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel Street, Monroeville with the Rev. Ronald Schock officiating. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery. A luncheon will follow in the Church hall.

Memorial contributions may be sent to one’s favorite charity or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
