Max Opper

Max Allen Opper, age 90, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday evening, November 15, 2018 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born November 16, 1927 in Vickery, OH to the late Charles L. and Olive G. (Wood) Pocock. He served in the US Army from 1950 until 1952 and was a member of the VFW Post 2743 and American Legion Post 41 in Norwalk. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a volunteer for many years at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He is survived by his loving wife, Corrine (Brewer) to whom he married October 10, 1953; children, Gail Gates, Gary (Jill) Opper, Glen (Tam) Opper and Gregg (Janice) Opper; grandchildren, Chris (Leslie), Heather, Eric (Stacey), Sandi (Clint) Darrell (Lauren), Shelby, Max, Carson and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Grant, Emily, Abbi, Kaci, Alexis, Canyon and Rylie; siblings, Rosemary (The late Harold) Allen and Polly (Richard) Nemitz; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, great-granddaughter, Star Lynn; siblings, Faye McFadden, Nelson Opper, Chester Opper, Dale Opper, Lewis Pocock and James Pocock.

Friends may call on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held Monday at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Brian Oglesbee officiating. Entombment will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the First United Methodist Church.
