Edwin Coon

Edwin Armstrong Coon, age 85, of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Stein Hospice Care Center.

He was born December 3, 1933 in Norwalk, where he lived most of his life. The son of Amos W. and Lois E. Coon, he served in the United States Army, stationed in Ft. Hood, TX as a tank retriever, joining in 1954. A sixty year member of the Operating Engineers Local 18, Cleveland, Ohio and also a member of the American Legion Post 547, and longtime member of the National Rifle Association.

Edwin is survived by his loving daughter, Ruth Reeder of Wheelersburg, OH; his brother, Larry (Carol) Coon of Norwalk; and a sister, Carol March of Leander, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randall M. (Rosie) Coon of Cincinnati.

A military graveside service will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Wakeman Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Tara Henderson officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
