Rev. Gene Bryant

Rev Eugene “Gene” Bryant, age 76, of Norwalk, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday morning, April 29, 2019 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

He was born February 17, 1943 in Ulysses, KY to the late Estill and Ella Faye (Young) Bryant. He worked at the Berlin Fruit Box Co, Bryant Logging Co., Fanny Farmers and retired after 28 years with Mayflower. He enjoyed deer and ginseng hunting, fishing, blue grass music and was a Ralph Stanley Fan. He once pastored at the Cline Street Freewill Baptist Church, where he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He preached the Word of the Lord for over 50 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Edna R. (Dann) Bryant; children, Kimberly (Kent) Hunter, Michael (Christina) Bryant, Mark (Tammy) Bryant and Matthew Bryant; grandchildren, Josh Collins, Ashley Bryant, Rachel Bryant, Sarah Bryant, Andrew Bryant, Connor Bryant, Rainer Bryant and Kylie Morris; great-grandchildren, Raelee Hunter and Evan Collins; siblings, Carol (Tony) Crawford and Gerald (Darlene) Bryant; in-laws, Patty Bryant, Beth Bryant and Ronald Salyers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Don, Curt, Ralph and Estill Bryant; and a sister, Billie Salyers.

Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home with the Revs. Bill Smith and Earl Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

So many fond memories working with the Bryant brothers on the farm. Truly hard workers. Was great talking with him again about 4 years ago.
