Clarence “June” Grose, Jr, 84, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at this residence surrounded by family.
He was born May 30, 1929 in Milan, Ohio and was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of North Fairfield High School.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Norwalk, Ohio, Eagles Aerie #711, Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio East Townsend Lodge # 322, Order of Eastern Stars Althea Chapter # 438, Monroeville, Ohio, and DADS of Veterans of Foreign Wars Firelands Post # 2743. He retired from W.L. Mead of Norwalk after 33 years of service and also had worked for Doug Brown Trucking and Walchers Trucking. Clarence enjoyed bowling, bird watching, gardening, camping, and traveling.
Survivors include sons and daughters, Duane “Byrd” (Teresa) Grose, Norwalk Ohio; Allan Grose, Lafayette, Indiana; Terry Grose, Norwalk, Ohio; Malinda (Richard) Hansen, Riverside, Iowa; Marcia Grose, Norwalk, Ohio; and Tina (Barry) Bowens, Kermit, West Virginia; 14 grandchildren ; 30 great grandchildren; Sisters and brother in laws Clarice (Forest) Stewart, Janet (Robert) Crofoot, Marge (Dave) Knoll, Lila Grose; Mary Grose; Ila Schank; Marge Carry and Don (Elizabeth) Carry.
June was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Carry) Grose; daughters and son In law, Elaine and James Finley; Michelle Vartorella; grandchild Tonya Noftz; parents Clarence and Beatrice (Miller) Grose; sister and brothers Verna Wetzel Farnsworth; Eugene, Walter and Wallace Grose.
A Memorial service will be held Monday, February 17, at 11:00 AM with a Masonic and Eastern Star service proceeding at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 21 Firelands Boulevard, Norwalk, Ohio with the Rev. Adrian N. Doll officiating. Interment will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio.
