Harriett Ryerson

Harriett M (Schug) Ryerson, age 96, Bellevue and formerly Norwalk, passed away Monday evening, January 8, 2024, at The Willows in Bellevue.

She was born August 9, 1927, in Monroeville, OH to the late Arthur and Ethel (Stotz) Schug. She was a 1945 graduate of Monroeville High School, worked at the Huron County Bank from 1945 until 1953, then worked at Cleveland Central Nation Bank until 1958. She is the longest-tenured member of the United Church of Christ in Monroeville and was active over the years in its Women’s Ministry.  She enjoyed taking care of her home and children, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved all Cleveland sports, OSU football, and basketball. She enjoyed watching all the activities on her son-in-law’s farm and especially enjoyed playing bridge and being active in her three bridge clubs.

She is survived by her daughters, Laurie (Kevin) Erf of Bellevue and Linda (Joseph) Brobst of Plain City; grandchildren, Megan, Daniel, Joey, Katie, and LeAnn; great-grandchildren, Logan, Charlee, Gabe, and Levi.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996, Donald A. Ryerson to whom she married in 1958; sisters, Althea Miller and Mary Davis.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 10:30 A.M. until time of service at 11:30 A.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk with Pastor Wayne Chasney officiating. A private burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park.
