I'm a school mate of Jack. I argued with him daily in Jr.High about which musical group was the best, The Beach Boys or The Beatles. I goated Jack one time telling him I would give up my love for the Beatles if could sing a Beach Boy song start to end. He did. Then I told him I lied. Dang he was angry.

Jack was an interesting and fun person, I didn't get to know him well but I do remember one of his last visits to Minnesota to visit the family. He told me of a time when he was finally able to get Grandma Sophie to come and visit, evidently, grandma didn't want to fly to Ohio and she also protested driving all that way in a car. She told Jack to only way she would travel would have to be in the comfort of her living room easy chair. Jack being the character he was said he could arrange that... He drove his van to Minnesota and secured grandma's easy chair in the middle of the back so she could see easily out the front and side windows ~ and that's how he convinced her to make the trip. He drove her both ways in Style and comfort...He had the biggest grin on his face telling me the story and I'll always remember him with a smile in my heart on on my face! May he rest in peace and comfort. Gigi

My prayers go out to your whole family I had the great opportunity to work for and with Jake it was a true pleasure to lean from him. He and Pam also opened up their home to me. I treasure still to this day of their generosity.

So sorry for your loss and know you are in my prayers. I remember being with you, Berk, when you met Jack. We use to ride our 10 speed bikes all the time in high school and on one ride with a group of guys you ask me who Jack was. Then going on a blind date you talked me into when you first went out with him to a concert in Cleveland, only having them scalp the tickets while we were in line. Then ending up eating at Frischs. But Jack did take our group in his van to my first concert, Deep Purple, at the speedway in Cleveland. We all had such great times together. You were so blessed to have such a wonderful life with him. My heart is aching for you. Hope to join you at his memorial but I am battling some health issues now so if I can't be there know I will be with you in spirit. Sending hugs, love and prayers.

Cross country trip with Jack in the 70’s. Stopped in Denver to visit old friends. On to CA to visit his cousin. Load up the van with west coast beer that you couldn’t get back east. Felt like a brother. Moved away in 76 but kept in touch through another Norwalk connection and roommate Darryl Skinn. Good man! World was better for his presence but happy that he no longer has to be in pain. Rest in peace my friend.

It is with great sorrow that I see this obituary today. My experience with Jack ( which I hadn't seen for sometime) was that he was a sweet caring man. A hard worker and someone you could have fun with also. It was a blessing to know him. Prayers for Pam and his family. Until we all meet again.
