Lauranell Baisden

Lauranell “Nanaboo” Baisden, age 81, of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 9, 1943, in Gallipolis, OH to the late Weldon R. and Dixie P. (Hayes) Miller. She attended Oak Hill High School, was a caregiver most of her life and was an STNA with the former Moravian Villa in Milan, where she was instrumental in organizing the union.  She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially with her grandchildren, which was her pride and joy.  She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat with family and friends, playing purse bingo, dancing and having fun. She was known as the life of the party to people who knew her as a social butterfly.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandy (Mario) Ramos of Norwalk, and Grace (Eric) Leibold of Norwalk; grandchildren, Angela, Mario Keaton (Abby), Cassandra (Michael) and Ian (Kasey); great-grandchildren, Alexis, Alex, Angel, Riley, Emma, Carter, Camilla, and Elena; daughter-in-law, Cheri Fleming, and her children, Bryan, Billy, and Gavin; sister, Janet Daugherty of Avon Lake; niece, Stephanie (Ray) Ortiz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving partner, Henry J. “Hank” Knittle; and her son, Weldon Baisden.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. until time of service at 5:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH.
