Luke was an incredible lover of people and an incredible lover of Jesus! He lived his faith out boldly, brought Jesus into almost every conversation, put smiles on people’s faces, and was truly a joy to have as a friend. I’ve learned a lot from Luke, and he will be greatly missed.

Luke was one of the kindest souls I had the pleasure of meeting. I remember for almost 2 whole years he would always call me
my roommates name and call her my name. We never had the heart to correct him until years later and we would always laugh about it. Even last semester, I grabbed lunch with Luke and he was so intentional about hearing about my summer and how my life was going. He couldn’t wait to tell me he had a girlfriend at the time and wanted to tell me all about her. Just a few weeks ago, Luke and I talked
for a little bit in passing. I hold these memories near to me and will always remember his infectious smile and positive impact he had on my life.

A month before I moved to OU in 2022, I gave my life to Jesus. And I knew going to college that I wanted friends who would push me toward Christ. During my first weekend at OU, I was blessed to meet Luke. Right away, I knew he’d be a Christ-centered friendship that I needed. He often asked how I was doing and we talked about the Lord quite frequently. We became good friends throughout that year, and then began leading in campus ministries the next year. Anytime he and I crossed paths, he would excitedly ask me about what God was doing in my life and the lives of students. And he would attentively listen to me, and share what the Lord was up to in his life as well. I’ll always remember Luke for the zeal he had for Christ. I pray to live out my faith like Luke did. He touched the lives of so many, set an example of what it means to walk with Christ and be on mission with the Gospel, and showed all of us how to love others as Christ first loved us. I’m a better person for having known him, and he will be greatly missed.

Luke was a great friend of mine at Ohio University. When I first joined Cru, he was one of the first people to get to know me. We would meet at least once a week to talk about faith, life, and class. He was always an encouragement to me and helped me grow closer in my walk with Jesus.

Luke brought so much joy to those around him. He made anyone and everyone feel welcome the minute they walked into a room. It was very rare that someone wouldn’t pass Luke on campus and he would greet everyone with that huge, loving smile of his and a friendly wave. To know Luke was to know the love of Christ. Luke left such a mark on my life in the 3 years I was blessed to know him, and he will certainly always be remembered as the most friendly face on campus. Lukes loving heart will continue to live on with everyone he blessed with his amazing friendship.

Luke loved people in a way they could never love him back. We don’t deserve him, but we’re so thankful for the time we had… in the time he had, he didn’t leave an ounce of potential untapped. He lived and loved in a way we all wish we could.
