G David "Dave" Brookover, age 78 of Norwalk passed away Saturday, July 5th 2025, at Twilight Gardens from a rare form of cancer.
Dave was born on Friday June 13th 1947 in Toledo Ohio to the late George Buchanan Brookover and Dorothy  (Lohner) Unruh.

He was a proud 1969 graduate of The Ohio State University, with a double English major degree.  Dave was a lifelong avid reader, and writer.  His license plate read "Author".  As a youngster, he read all the Hardy boys series and he also publish stories with  Readers Digest and authored SyFy horror books.

Being born and raised in Toledo Ohio, he taught at Fassett junior high and Woodmore  high school right out of College.  He also coached sports at both schools. In 1983 he married Mary Elizabeth Bellamy of Norwalk Ohio, and they lived in Toledo, where at that time he wrote for an advertising agency and ran a printing company. In 1991 they moved to Florida, where he taught at a school for "high risk"  children. And then moved to Oviedo high school to finish out his career.

Dave retired in 2011 and He and Mary moved back to Norwalk. Dave was a lifelong fan of O.S. U.  Basketball and Football and enjoyed playing golf with Mary and others.
He is survived by his sons Brett Brookover and Chet Brookover, and a brother Jim Brookover and his wife Wendy and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Karen Brookover.

Dave lived and worked his life to the fullest.  In fact, before he died, Mary read to him many sincere accolades from former students that he truly enriched their lives.
Dave said he was ready to "meet his Maker". So now  he knows end of story!
