Rose (Leimeister) Fannin

Rose Agnes (Leimeister) Fannin, age 94, of Collins, passed away peacefully Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Laurels of New London.

She was born November 9, 1930, in Huron to the late Joseph and Ada (Good) Leimeister and was a 1948 graduate from Berlin Heights High School.  She married her husband, Carl and raised her children before working at the Invention Restaurant in Milan, where she enjoyed baking pies and helping in the kitchen.  She also worked at Martha’s Catering in Norwalk for many years.  She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering with committees as needed.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, Sunday dinner with her entire family, and attending her grandchildren’s activities including attending basketball and volleyball games.

She is survived by her children, Don (Cheryl) Fannin of Wakeman, Becky Magyar of Norwalk, Richard (Genia) Fannin of Huron, Mike (Lisa) Fannin of Wakeman, Dale Fannin of FL, Kathy (Mike) Mirtes of Norwalk, Doug (Brenda) Fannin of Norwalk, Jeff (Lisa) Fannin of Collins, Neil (Jeffrey Stuck) Fannin of Sandusky and Matt Fannin of Norwalk; 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; siblings, Catherine Clouse of Norwalk, Monica Leimeister of London, Anthony Leimeister of Huron, Paul Leimeister of Huron and John Leimeister of Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Fannin in 2005; children, Barbara Ann Fannin, Ray Fannin and Chuck Fannin; siblings, Dorothy Fannin, Ruth Wood, Mary Moyer, Mike Leimeister, Jim Leimeister, Norma Leimeister, Rita Roberts, Frank Leimeister, Theresa Wyatt, Chuck Leimeister and Peter Leimeister in infancy.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, September 15, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Visitation will also be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 9:00 -10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, with burial at St. Paul Cemetery.
