Laurie Ann (Knupke) Gilbert
4/28/49 - 9/15/25
Laurie is blessedly at home in the presence of Jesus. While a temporary resident of this world, she met her husband of fifty years, Gale Gilbert, who was present in Heaven to greet her. They have five children: Alysha (Jim) Lesch, Leann (Mike) Malick, Holly (Scott) Adkins, Gerald (Anastasia) Gilbert and Greg (Maria) Gilbert. Laurie has thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She is survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jeri and Curtis Jeffers and sister-in-law Beverly (Don) Knupke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gale, parents Luther and Sarah Jane (Fairfield) Knupke, brothers John and Don Knupke, and nephew, Scott Jeffers. Next to God, her family was her treasure.
God gifted Laurie with a talent for craftsmanship and an artistic mind. She enjoyed to sew, crochet, quilt, draw, paint, wood working, and just about any crafty endeavor. Laurie was a stay at home mom for many years before being employed by Walmart. She was a member of Milan Baptist Church. Laurie’s family will greatly miss her but are trusting in the promise that when she left this world, Jesus welcomed her home into Heaven. With her assurance of going Home, she confidently told her family, “I’ll meet you at the gate!”
At Laurie’s request, the family will have a private service and burial at Sand Hill Cemetery, Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Erie County Cancer Services, 505 East Perkins Ave, Sandusky.
Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St, Norwalk.
