Violet Mae (Capen) Grosswiler, age 96, of Norwalk, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born February 15, 1929, in Detroit, MI to the late Charles and Martha (Banworth) Capen. She was married to Lucian S. Grosswiler August 27, 1955, and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, shopping and garage sales. She will be missed by her two loving dogs, Lucky and Baron.
She is survived by her children, Rhea Mae Grosswiler-Dixon, Rhena (Michael) Cannon and Randy (Vanessa) Grosswiler; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian in 1998; sisters, Viola Kolar and Virginia Dunham; son-in-law, David E. Dixon; and great-granddaughter, Melanie Joy Lopez.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.
