Alan Kromer

Alan Dean Kromer, age 36, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully at home by the things and people he loved on Wednesday evening, March 18, 2026.

He was born November 29, 1989, in Akron to his loving parents, Frank and Michelle (Fahning) Kromer. Alan attended Christie Lane School and CLI. Alan enjoyed being around family, friends and animals of any type. He particularly loved his dogs and horses, and they always loved him in return. Alan was always quick with a smile and a bold “Hi” to those he knew. He enjoyed watching re-runs of Seinfeld and other sitcoms. He will be missed but not forgotten by those fortunate to have known him.

He is survived by his parents, and his aunts and uncles, Tim (Sharon) Fahning, Kelly (Sean) Schaffer, Barbara (Ken Braaten) Smith, Christine (Bruce) Mollison, Millie (Mark) Yost, Roseann (Jack) Mariner, John (Cindy) and Charles; cousins, Danielle (Pat) Moody, Evan (Lupe) Fahning, Alex (Kristin) Bilodeau, Erin (Mike) Gall, Gwen Bumb, Randall (Erica) Mollison, Brian, Steve and Mike Yost, Cobey, Kyler and Casey Kromer, and Ian (Sabrina) Mariner and Kelsi Mariner.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Charlotte Kromer and maternal grandparents, Jerry and Vi Fahning.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, March 23, 2026, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Private interment will be held at a later date.

The Kromer family would like to thank all the many caregivers, Tammy, Shayla, Carla, Mindy, Melissa, Marcia and Jeff.

I have so many wonderful memories with and of Alan…he is going to be so missed. I’m thankful to have worked with him and his family. It was always more than work for me-there was and is love.
