Richard "Dick" C. Ward

Richard C Ward, age 82, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was born July 10, 1943 in Norwalk to the late Lloyd and Lucille Ward and was a graduate of Norwalk High School. He served in the US Army and served in Korea and enjoyed working at Tennaco for many years. He played in the minor Baseball League and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and Browns fan. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and sitting outside to bask in the sun.

He is survived by his loving wife, Paulette Ward; children, Brenda Hicks and Tonya (Chris) Love; grandchildren, Sean Hall, Tiffany McConnell, Eric Martin, Jayson Jenkins, Tyler Tiller, Kayla Love, Bryanna Love and Reagan Love; many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sisters, Patricia Mank and Roselyn Eckenrod; brothers, Holly Ward, William Ward and Robert Ward.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert “Bob” L. Ward in 2022 and Horace “Holly” Ward in 2023.; and his first wife, Vernette.

A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
