Dorothy "Ellen" Cring

Dorothy “Ellen” Cring, age 86, of Milan, passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at University Hospital in Cleveland after an extended illness.
She was born March 19, 1940, in Danville, OH to the late Ellis and Beulah (Hedrick) Wilkey. She moved to Milan in 1961 and previously worked as an associate at JC Penney’s in the 1960’s. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved pets, sewing, crafting, attending flea markets, gardening and growing her tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Henry Paul Cring to whom she married on November 30, 1956, in Auburn, Indiana; daughter, Brenda Sue (Peter) Batch; grandchildren, Brian Peter (Lisa) Batch and Shelley Ann Batch; sister, Gladys Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Doris Nichols and Nettie Wilkes.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
