Robin B. Innes
October 12, 2026
Robin B Innes, age 72, of Huron, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 12, 2026.
He was born March 8, 1954, in Elyria, OH to the late George S. and Wanda A. (Wykrent) Innes. He attended school in North Ridgeville and upon graduation, attended B.G.S.U., earning a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He was employed as the Public Relations Director by Cedar Point Amusement Park for 37 years, during which he met his wife Kathleen “Katie” (Koch). While employed by Cedar Point, he conducted media swings, interviews, and press releases with many news and radio stations. He was also employed by Sandusky City Schools as a Substitute Teacher, where he was known endearingly as “Mr. I”.
Robin and Katie were married on March 24, 1984, at St. Peter Lutheran Church and started a family when they adopted Cassidy Leigh, Robin’s pride and joy. They were married for 42 years and would eventually welcome five cherished grandchildren, Dawson Boyd (Papa’s namesake), Lily, Ivy, Olly, and Ozzy.
Robin attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with his family, was an avid Cleveland sports fan, and was a golf enthusiast who thoroughly enjoyed visiting golf courses throughout the United States. He also loved traveling out West, but most recently to Walt Disney World with his grandchildren. Robin took any chance he could get to spend quality time with his grandchildren, whether playing basketball, building forts, or playing board games. To him, grandparenting was the “best gig”.
Robin is preceded in death by his parents George and Wanda Innes, as well as his sister, Betty Furlan.
He is survived by his beloved wife Katie, of Huron; daughter Cassidy (Derek Olenek) of Sandusky; and his cherished grandchildren, Dawson, Lily, Ivy, Olly, and Ozzy. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Mary Koch, of Milan; brother, Gerald Innes, of North Ridgeville; sister Sherry Innes, of Oberlin; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. until time of service, at 12 P.M., at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, OH 44857 with Pastor Adam Wutka officiating.
Memorial contributions may be sent to one’s favorite charity.
